Fuji Z5600 camera review

2006_0625testing3c (13 images)

Background. We went to purchase a Fuji Z5600 from Clive Anthony Labrador in late June 2006 as the sales man sat at his desk with the camera he bumped the printer we were buying consequentially dropping the Fuji Z5600 to the floor about 4 feet.

Fuji Z5600 camera photo's below are the result of quality of the Fuji Z5600 camera. We have been disappointed with the Fuji Z5600 camera as out of the box it had a focus error and the store wanted nothing to do with it. We researched to find the support centre for Fuji who helped us reset the camera. Since which time the Fuji Z5600 camera has taken spotted out of focus pictures and has now brought up another focus error this time will not reset.

We contacted Clive Anthony upon asking how to get warranty work on the Fuji Z5600 camera we were told sorry NO refunds as the camera is over 30 days old Store policy. He also stated we would have to send the camera to Fuji as Fuji would not let Clive Anthony send them in for warranty Fuji denied this. We explained to the operator about the camera being dropped by the sales man to which she replied the packaging should have prevented damage. She did not mention the fact we would have to pay if Fuji found an abnormal fault with the camera. She also said to visit the website to see what charges we would have to pay to send the camera back.

After which we visited the Fuji website and found it was going to cost in excess of approximately $150 to fix either a factory fault or one caused by the sales man at Clive Anthony's. We as you can see above never mentioned return or refund. After getting off the phone we looked at the terms and can find no mention of 30 days refund in the store policy. However now after being lied to on several occasions by Clive Anthony's have requested a refund as we cannot now trust Clive Anthony's any further. As seen in the photo's below the camera has an intermittent focus fault which has now become permanent.

Since the last call to Clive Anthony Labrador we have contacted Consumer Affairs. This is partly due to an article in the paper on December 27 2006 stated we have the right to refund or replacement as the goods failed to meet our requirements and are faulty. In our opinion Clive Anthony's has had a lot of problems with either returns to Fuji or Fuji camera's in which case consumer affairs agree that we the customer should not have to suffer and the product and accessory price be refunded.

Please take notice that consumer affairs advised we give you seven days to sort this matter out. They also advised should it not be sorted they explained the various options for taking further action to remedy the situation.

Update February 6, 2007

Clive Anthony now state they do not have the policy it IS a Fuji 30 day refund for faulty goods. Clive Anthony failed to inform us and probably many people about the above fact. Which according to consumer affairs appears to be in breach of consumers rights, our understanding of this is that it is due to the fact Clive Anthony do not have the authority, cannot refund or refuse to.

Update March 23, 2007

Clive Anthony has been contacted by us again and as such have agreed to send to problem camera back to Fuji. In addition to this we have renewed fiath in this store as Mark the manager has greatly helped as such we will re consider returning for our next purchase. BUT it will not be a Fuji unless they do a major review of the terms they have.
