This is a multi part letter designed to show councils incompetence over a number of subject and years spanning not just the current council but previous as well.

This council was elected to repair the ailing city of Gold Coast and its problems, not just to get another pay rise and keep on getting reports. After 40 odd years their should be a report somewhere that says how to fix the water supply as Sir Bruce Small advised round 40 years ago. We pay our rates and rents and a host of other fees & taxes to the council / government and get a lot of mostly nothing back only restrictions; like you canâ€™t use water but pay us the LUDICROUS amounts of money for our new buildings, houses or cars etc that we ask for.

A statement was made in recent weeks in a gold coast newspaper that council would be fining people for using water for normal purposes from fire hydrants & fire hoses etc. As the COUNCIL has FAILED to stipulate in the building plans they approved adequate water facilities for business example a garden tap near every hydrant they expect business to now use 1-litre jugs. This move will cost business about $300 a day/week in extra labour. We are calling for all businesses to bill the council after working out what we have in our case the sum of $10,000.00 a year in advance; this is due to the fact the customer should not be responsible for Councilâ€™s stupidity & place a $250k fine on the council for each failure to pay.

It is in our professional opinion that the council should be sacked and an interim one be put in place

Should council require any further advice they should feel free to pay our standard rate of $133 per hour to help them to sort them out; as we have provided a number of solutions to date that are easily implemented and have not been nor have we been compensated for the damage council have caused due to their negligence. On top of this the council say use less water but with councils putting in tempering valves on new hot water systems you have to use more water and power and more expensive to buy them also costing more time having to heat the water separately & risking contamination by microbes as under 60oC this occurs.

Many of the residents of the gold coast are fed up with the blatant continuing incompetence of the council over the last forty years they keep getting pay rise after rise and should be set at the average wage of $400 a fortnight the same as the unemployment rate or less if they have other businesses or interests just like in England. Being a councillor or mayor is an Honour; yes it is a job but many councillors have other incomes as well and like in England they should only get paid the same.

As we have only been able to find 1 or 2 decent councillors in its history we should bring new blood in from overseas TO GET THE JOB DONE, the current councillors and predecessors are just money hungry and self serving bar 1 or 2. IT IS TIME TO STAND UP AND DO SOMETHING NOW. The way this council is going we will next month have to buy helmets to walk down the street safely as the high rises go up the water goes down their pay rises up & service goes down. We will be voting along with many others this council be sacked.
